Tesuque Market Closing

Kim’s, Tesuque Market will close Thursday, 9 January, according to Eva Greene who spoke with Eleanora at the Market.

Neighbors fought a long battle with the owners, won, and then owners came back with another plan, always for a bar/restaurant/market. That plan was defeated too.

“I just spoke to Eleanora at Tesuque Market,” wrote Eva Greene, “and she did confirm that tomorrow is the final day Tesque will be open.

“I wish they could have made it work as a market, but apparently, from what Eleanora said, the owner’s intention from the beginning was to make it into a restaurant/bar like the one in New Mexico. She said they could no longer battle the permit office and neighborhood and it was getting too expensive to fight. They could also not make the changes the permit office was advising them to make in order to make the restaurant function with the standards and zoning requirements of our residential neighborhood.”

What a shame. That market has been there as long as I remember. Did it change ownership in recent years? And yes, now the encampments/squatters will take over.

They had some great sales, 50% off!

Now that vacant building will have encampments poping up all around. The residents will get exactly what they deserve.
