Swinger Attacked on 3rd

Rick Swinger was attacked last Friday morning on 3rd Ave during the street cleaning operation.

Swinger is pursuing getting photos of the incident from Google cameras and filing charges.

“I had my iPhone forcefully taken from me by surprise attack and thrown over Google’s fence into their parking lot by this guy in black,” said Swinger. “I have talked to the assailant before and he told me he is with “Services not Sweeps” and a Tenants Rights group.

When asked how it all happened, Swinger said “I asked him if he would like to have a “No Shit” button and he said they were cute but no thanks. I told him they had a message about the dangers of human feces that go down our storm drain and endanger children at the beach and the next thing I know is he lunged at me and my iPhone. A struggled for a few seconds and next thing I see is my iPhone flying over Google’s fence! Then he flew off like a flock of seagulls.”

Well, they stated on twitter that they would use vandalism. I guess they are true to their word, and they used violence too. As a Venetian I plead for LAPD to get involved in this, these situations can spin out of control if not handled quickly and properly.
I don’t know who sponsors this so called activist group, but they made it clear they are against all of the residents of Venice and will harm citizens and property to achieve their goals.
VENETIANS WANT MORE LAPD AT CLEANUPS!!!

IF the person who attacked is really with Services not Sweeps, as alleged, then here is a list of organizations which are supporting sending violent and vandalizing agents into our community: https://servicesnotsweeps.com/organizations

Many are good organizations that do good things, we need to start having a conversation with them about their support, and how the Venice residents feel about it. I am starting with some people I know, please help by doing the same.

      No vigilantes in Venice!

Porta Potties were placed on 3rd parking lot by private individual. People did not abide by the rules of using the potties and not throwing trash in them so they were removed. Private individual did this for the residents of 3rd Ave, and residents to show their gratitude, disobeyed the rules. Potties were there from December 2016 to March 2017.

Services not Sweeps and the VCHC brought in a large porta potty last month and dump it on 3rd and Rose Ave for their protest as if the residents have never seen one before. Little did they know we had already been there done that without the Pony Show, Bull Horns and Speeches. We did it without the hoopla but with quiet dignity, respect and hope it would work. It didn’t and thats not our fault we tried. But we got scorned anyway saying we were haters as they yelled at us for hours that day. I wish it was that simple believe me! Another problem is the “serial pooper” who won’t use the bathrooms. This is a mental condition that is most prevalent here for the mass volume of Shit we see that these folks don’t clean up afterwards. Lets face the truth even if we didn’t have a bathroom close by most of us wouldn’t leave it on the street for someone else to clean up, unless you were disturbed. These serial poopers are full of anxiety which is a trigger for this kind of behavior. Living on a street full of Norway Rats biting on your toes at night might just be one of the triggers. Reading up on this real problem will give us a clue on how to deal with this dangerous pollution we face here in Venice Beach.
