Venice Update

News of Venice, CA and Marina del Rey CA

MTA Site Passes Coastal Commission

The MTA site selected for Bridge Housing passed the California Coastal Commission today.

The site at Sunset between Pacific and Main will provide temporary housing for 154 formerly homeless people.  Trailers will be provided for 54 youth aged 18 to 24.  A 10,000 sq ft tent will be provided for 100 people.  Facilities will be provided for dining, services, pet area, and 20 spaces for parking.

According to David Graham-Caso, chief of staff to Councilman Mike Bonin, “the detailed timeline is being worked out between the Bureau of Engineering and contractors… but generally, the project will most likely start construction within a few weeks or early next year, which would allow the site to open in the spring.”

There is talk of a law suit and injunction.

A bunch of governmental hacks and bureaucratic scum approving the destruction of a neighborhood. The Liberals are happy and the rest of Venice is asking why did I move here and how will this effect my property values? How will this effect our quality of life?
