Telling Film of Venice — Crime, Transient Homeless, and Now City Wants “Bridge Housing” in Residential Area

Excellent film by Paul Abascal on the homeless in Venice. Abascal touches on the transient inhabitants, the crime, the multitude of social services that attract the homeless, the lack of law enforcement, and now the city wants “Bridge Housing” in a residential area of Venice at the MTA lot.

  1. Placing bridge housing in residential areas is absolutely insane. Does our Mayor and Councilman not care about our children going to school near the influence of drugs being used. Maybe they want to get our kids addicted, or don’t care if they ate in harms way.

      Dear Ms. Lennon,

Yes: “|placing bridge housing in residential areas is absolutely insane.” I happen to agree.

“Does our Mayor and Councilman not care about our children going to school near the influence of drugs being used.” Short answer = NO. Bonin does not have kids. I happen to agree with you.

“Maybe they want to get our kids addicted, or don’t care if they ate in harms way.” Quite possibly, Ms. Lennon. Most likely.

The 2 proposed Sherman Oaks locations are NOT in industrial locations – but rather seconds away from an elementary school and hundreds of homes.

Why aren’t they in industrial areas. Always near school. Do they want to put these kids in harms way, or get them addicted to drugs. This is absolutely not a good choice. No
