Venice Vision Shows “Monster of the Median” and Explains the Projects Envisioned for Venice

Monster

Venice Vision uses cartoon to capture the “Venice Median” picture. Cartoon will be used to solicit funds to fight the project proposed for Venice between North and South Venice Blvd.   Go to VeniceVision.org and fightbackvenice.org.

Venice Vision is dedicated to educate the public as to what is proposed for the Venice Median and to fight the project. Additionally, members are explaining what they consider to be the Councilman’s plan for Venice as a “Homeless Hub” unsurpassed by any homeless enclave in Los Angeles County other than Skid Row.

The page states:
Councilman Mike Bonin claims he has a plan to “end homelessness” in Venice. Not true.

In fact, between 2015 and 2016 homelessness dropped by 12% in Venice, but since Bonin began implementing his homelessness plan last year, homelessness in Venice has increased by 34% – growing faster than the homeless population in Skid Row even as the homeless population dropped by 5% in the rest of Bonin’s council district.

And that has been Bonin’s plan all along – to transform our community into a centralized hub for the delivery of homeless housing and services for the entire western half of Los Angeles County, including cities other than Los Angeles, like Santa Monica, Malibu, Beverly Hills and Culver City.

” (It is interesting that they lost the last word, Corporation recently – Oh we are not really a local developer – Just helping the poor), and other social social services that are no longer here.”

Also interesting that St. Josephs Homeless Center is now “St. Josephs Center?” Where was the community input or notice about merging with Hollywood Community Housing Corporation? Why do the mission statements and web sites for all these change recently and regularly?

This was Councilmember Ruth Galanter’s plan years ago before Bill Rosendahl – To move as many homeless as possible to Venice and heavily fund St Jos, VCHC (Venice Community Housing Corp (It is interesting that they lost the last word, Corporation recently – Oh we are not really a local developer – Just helping the poor), and other social social services that are no longer here. Mikey must be trying to do the same – Could it be developers are pressuring the LA City forces (including the Mayor) to develop this “benevolent community” here in Venice in order to help clear the skid row “artist loft” development area and lessen the impact of the homeless crises in other parts of CD11. Sometimes I wonder.

    • What is it that the Homeless project was denied in Boyle Heights?
Last week we had an emergemcy flooding that could of gotten out of control on the canals. The community needs an eviromental report of the tide we have underneath on the medium. All I know it has been rising every year. I am less than a block of this project.
Can you imagine if we have a real down pour, which we have experienced in the past, and that medium gets flooded? I have requested for years to have this Housing communities to be audited in the past. How much money do they have on the side? How will they be funded. How much money have they raised?
