These eight Venice Bulldog Cheerleaders, who range in age from 11 to 13, have already placed 1st in Pop Warner Area Competition, 2nd in Pop Warner Regional Competition, and 1st in Jamz Holiday Showcase.

Their next competition is the Jamz National in Las Vegas January 25 thru January 28.  They will perform two routines—Showcheer and Hip Hop.  They have been practicing two hours, three days a week to get ready for Las Vegas.

April 1st the girls go to work to support youth flag football and 1 August they cheer for tackle football.
“Our organization is focused on promoting and keeping kids involved in sports by providing a positive environment in the Venice Community,” said Schalanda Dafney, treasurer of the organization.
“This includes promoting good health, scholastic achievement, character development, team sportsmanship, and discipline.”

They have been working at raising $5000 for the trip by performing at the Abbot Kinney First Friday, at Whole Foods, and various other places.  They still need about $2000.  Donations, which are fully 501 tax deductible, will cover the costs of uniforms, registration fees, hotel, van rental and meal expenses. If you want to donate, send checks to Venice Bulldogs Westside Youth Corp, 610 California Ave, Venice, CA 90291.  One can also donate using PayPal.
